Worked on the mattermost/desktop repository to deliver full Chinese (Simplified Han) translation coverage for all 317 user interface strings, enhancing accessibility for Chinese-speaking users. Utilized JSON and Weblate to manage and implement the internationalization process, ensuring that the translation was both comprehensive and maintainable. The work focused on aligning the UI with localization standards, preparing the project for release without introducing new bugs. By leveraging Weblate’s collaborative features, the translation workflow became more scalable and efficient, reducing future localization effort. The contribution strengthened the project’s internationalization capabilities and improved the overall user experience for a broader audience.
