Worked on the fossasia/scrum_helper repository, focusing on enhancing security and code quality in a JavaScript front end environment. Delivered improvements to HTML sanitization by replacing unsafe innerHTML usage with a regex-based text extraction method, introducing a fallback mechanism to support Trusted Types, and implementing consistent tag stripping and escaping to mitigate XSS vulnerabilities. Automated code formatting was applied across the codebase to standardize structure and improve maintainability. These updates reduced security risks and streamlined future development, making onboarding easier and lowering maintenance costs. The work demonstrated a strong emphasis on security best practices and sustainable code hygiene throughout the project.
