During April 2025, contributed to the badges/shields repository by developing an experimental Dynamic URL Data Extraction Badge. This feature enables extraction and display of information from URLs using configurable search and replace parameters, leveraging JavaScript and the RE2 regular expression library for efficient pattern matching. The implementation focused on robust input validation and comprehensive error handling to mitigate risks such as invalid inputs and potential ReDoS attacks. By introducing this dynamic, regex-based badge, the work established a flexible foundation for future data-driven badges and enhanced the maintainability of URL-based displays, demonstrating strong skills in API and backend development as well as testing.
