Worked on the kubernetes/autoscaler repository to address a critical storage management issue by enabling the VolumeAttachments permission within the Cluster Autoscaler deployment. This change, implemented through a targeted update to deployment.yaml using yaml, ensured that the autoscaler could properly manage dynamic storage resources during scaling events. By aligning the Cluster Autoscaler’s permissions with Kubernetes storage workflows, the update reduced the risk of volume attachment failures and improved reliability for production workloads requiring dynamic storage provisioning. The work demonstrated a focused DevOps approach, maintaining clear traceability with a single, well-documented change that directly addressed a key operational bug.
