Developed and delivered the OpenTelemetry Collector Builder (OCB) package within the cashapp/hermit-packages repository, focusing on standardized cross-platform build workflows for custom OpenTelemetry collectors. Leveraged HCL and DevOps practices to configure binaries, test commands, and download sources for multiple operating systems and architectures. Introduced versioning and SHA256 checksums to ensure artifact integrity and traceability, enabling reliable and scalable deployments. This work reduced manual build steps and streamlined release processes, supporting artifact verification across diverse environments. The approach emphasized automation and consistency, utilizing build tools and OpenTelemetry expertise to enhance the hermit-packages ecosystem’s support for robust, reproducible collector builds.
