Worked on the localstack/moto repository to deliver a security-focused refactor of RDS secret storage, migrating managed secrets to a structured JSON format with explicit fields for username and password. This approach improved data organization and auditability while enhancing the reliability of secret handling. Expanded test coverage ensured the new JSON structure remained compatible with the AWS backend, supporting ongoing correctness and maintainability. The work involved backend development and refactoring using Python and JSON, with a strong emphasis on testing and AWS services integration. The changes standardized secret storage, simplified audit trails, and contributed to a more robust and secure codebase.
