Developed and contributed a new client-side WMS clipping capability to the Leaflet/Leaflet repository, focusing on enhancing map visualization and interactivity. The work centered on building the Leaflet WMS Crop plugin, which enables users to clip WMS layers directly in the browser using GeoJSON or polygon boundaries. This approach leverages JavaScript and front end development skills to integrate WMS and GeoJSON data within the Leaflet ecosystem, improving efficiency by reducing server-side processing. The contribution included thorough documentation of the plugin’s impact, demonstrating a clear understanding of both the technical requirements and the practical benefits for interactive mapping applications.
