Worked on security and data management enhancements across the ministryofjustice/modernisation-platform and modernisation-platform-environments repositories, focusing on access control and data governance. Delivered features such as SSO role management for analytics engineers, streamlined production access by removing development and test groups, and improved organization of query results and data using S3 prefixes. Enhanced Data Catalog access by implementing Single Sign-On and cross-account Lake Formation admin roles, including an upgrade to support updated configurations. Utilized AWS, Terraform, and HCL to deliver infrastructure as code solutions that strengthened security, improved data discoverability, and reduced manual administrative overhead for analytics and data engineering workflows.
June 2026: Delivered security and data-management improvements across two MoJ repositories, enabling secure analytics access, streamlined production access, and improved data governance. Key features delivered include Digital Prison Reporting Access Control and SSO Role Management; HMPPS Data Hub S3 prefixes for query results and data; Enhanced Data Catalog Access Management with SSO and cross-account Lake Formation admin roles (with CROSS_ACCOUNT_VERSION upgrade). Major bugs fixed: reverted unintended sso_group_name/level changes to restore correct role configuration and removal of development/test groups from DPR to prevent production access drift. Overall impact: stronger security posture, faster, safer analytics access, and better data discoverability; reduced manual admin overhead. Technologies/skills demonstrated: SSO, IAM role management, cross-account access, Lake Formation, S3 prefix organization, IaC upgrades.
