During November 2025, Avery focused on improving the reliability of the catppuccin/nix repository by addressing a critical bug in Gitea asset directory handling. Avery implemented version-aware logic in Nix to ensure that required asset directories are explicitly created with correct user and group permissions, adapting to different Gitea package layouts. This approach reduced runtime permission errors and enhanced security by enforcing proper ownership and directory structure. Leveraging skills in configuration management, DevOps, and the Nix language, Avery’s work resulted in more robust deployment artifacts and improved maintainability for Nix/NixOS packaging in diverse operational environments.
