Alex contributed to the openwrt/packages repository by updating the mdns-repeater package to align with the latest upstream release. This work involved refreshing the source URL, source date, version, and mirror hash, as well as adjusting the package release number to ensure reproducible builds and accurate metadata. Using Makefile and build system management skills, Alex enhanced traceability by referencing the explicit upstream commit and reduced maintenance overhead by minimizing drift from upstream sources. The update improved security and feature parity within the OpenWrt ecosystem. The scope of work was focused, demonstrating careful attention to packaging standards and reproducibility requirements.
