Focused on cleaning up legacy code, specifically eliminating WINE_ALLOW_XIM references, which reduced configuration fragility and maintenance overhead. This effort improved compatibility and set the stage for future input-method refactoring within the Proton codebase. Leveraged Python and full stack development skills to ensure the changes integrated smoothly with existing systems. The work targeted both performance and maintainability, simplifying the environment setup process for developers and users. No bugs were fixed during this period, with all efforts concentrated on this targeted feature enhancement and codebase modernization.
