Worked on the DataDog/dd-apm-test-agent repository to enhance the local EvP endpoint’s trace query capabilities, focusing on expanding the supported query syntax. Developed advanced query parsing in Python, enabling boolean logic, range queries, and wildcards to improve operator usability and troubleshooting workflows. Addressed parsing edge cases and updated the testing framework, removing manual steps to streamline continuous integration and reduce quality assurance overhead. The work aligned with project requirements for comprehensive trace query support, resulting in more flexible and maintainable backend functionality. Emphasized backend development, data analysis, and robust testing practices to deliver a feature that broadens query flexibility.
