In June 2025, Buzz Galbraith enhanced the monarch-initiative/mondo repository by delivering ontology cross-references and quality assurance synchronization. Leveraging skills in data curation, medical terminology, and ontology engineering, Buzz enriched mondo terms with cross-references from Mesh, ICD10WHO, and ICD11 using the obo language. The work involved removing mappings flagged by quality control, which improved data quality and reduced potential downstream errors. Buzz also synchronized the local ontology with upstream content, aligning it with external standards and reducing drift. This feature strengthened interoperability for downstream applications, supporting more accurate clinical reasoning and data integration within the medical ontology ecosystem.
