Worked on enhancing cross-platform package management in the cashapp/hermit-packages repository by adding arm64 and aarch64 binary support for the fd package starting from version 10.1.0. Developed architecture-aware source URL construction and updated SHA256 checksums to ensure reliable and secure downloads for multiple architectures. This approach streamlined installation processes for arm64 systems and reduced manual intervention for users, while also improving CI packaging workflows for multi-arch releases. Utilized HCL for configuration and demonstrated skills in cross-platform development, packaging automation, and binary distribution integrity. The work focused on robust, architecture-specific package delivery and improved reliability for multi-architecture environments.
