In May 2025, Cam Rossi developed a feature for the DataDog/cilium repository that introduced support for custom labels on the clustermesh API server service. By leveraging Helm and Kubernetes, Cam enabled users to apply tailored labels, improving resource organization, management, and observability across multi-cluster environments. The implementation involved updates to YAML configuration files and comprehensive documentation to facilitate smooth adoption and correct usage. This work addressed the need for more granular control over Kubernetes resources, aligning with multi-cluster governance objectives.
