Worked on enhancing the reliability of network policy testing in the derailed/cilium repository by addressing a bug in the policy-local-cluster-egress test suite. Introduced a gating mechanism to ensure the L7 proxy feature is enabled before executing tests that depend on it, thereby reducing the occurrence of false negatives and improving the accuracy of egress policy validation. This contribution focused on Go development and CLI tooling, with an emphasis on robust network policy testing. The changes led to more stable continuous integration results and strengthened the overall test framework by ensuring that feature dependencies are properly checked before test execution.
