During September 2025, CNT4 integrated the Von Hippel 2025 study data into the SPAAM-community/AncientMetagenomeDir repository, focusing on environmental_samples and environmental_libraries datasets. They curated and appended new sample and library entries using TSV, applying data normalization by rounding date fields to the nearest century to ensure consistency and prevent Excel-induced mis-edits. Their work addressed persistent issues with TSV files opening in Excel, reducing the risk of unintended data corrections and improving downstream data reliability. Leveraging skills in data curation, data entry, and data management, CNT4 delivered a focused, well-documented feature with full commit traceability over a one-month period.
