Worked on stabilizing self-healing rebuilds in the daos-stack/daos repository by addressing a critical bug affecting delay_rebuild correctness across exclusion scenarios. Focused on refining the distributed system’s error handling and configuration management, the developer delivered a targeted C code fix that ensures rebuilds are properly delayed, reducing unnecessary operations. The update also improved system programming practices by minimizing verbose logging during shard update failures, resulting in clearer diagnostics and more robust self-healing behavior. This work demonstrated strong debugging and code maintenance skills, with changes committed in a traceable manner to support easier audits and collaborative reviews within the DAOS project.
