Worked on the google/fhir-data-pipes repository to implement robust resource deletion propagation across both the sink database and the FHIR server. Focused on backend development using Java, the work involved updating the ConvertResourceFn to trigger delete operations for resources marked as deleted, rather than uploading them. Extended the JdbcResourceWriter and FhirStoreUtil components to support deletion by resource ID, ensuring data consistency and correctness throughout the system. Comprehensive unit tests were added to validate the new deletion logic. This effort demonstrated skills in backend engineering, data processing, and database management, with a focus on maintaining integrity across distributed data systems.
