During July 2025, chefpro enhanced the Pipsolar driver in the arendst/Tasmota repository, focusing on expanding device command support and improving data reporting. Working in C++ within an embedded systems and IoT context, chefpro added new command capabilities, including QPIRI, QFLAG, and CUSTOM, while introducing robust error handling and diagnostics. The publishing logic was refactored to emit structured JSON output for multiple data types, enabling easier integration with dashboards and downstream systems. Additionally, chefpro developed a function to interpret and publish device flag statuses, increasing operator visibility and reducing troubleshooting time. The work demonstrated depth in device driver engineering.
