Over six months, Poleli developed and modernized video translation tooling and APIs in the Azure-Samples/cognitive-services-speech-sdk and related repositories. He delivered Python and C# client libraries, command-line interfaces, and SDK enhancements, enabling streamlined video translation workflows with features like lip-sync, audio input, and Event Hub integration. His work included upgrading to .NET 8.0 for cross-platform support, refining API specifications, and improving documentation and localization. Using C#, Python, and Azure cloud services, Poleli focused on maintainable code, robust error handling, and seamless integration, addressing both backend and developer experience needs while ensuring compatibility with evolving API versions.
March 2026: Delivered key API upgrade for the Video Translation Client in the cognitive-services-speech-sdk. Implemented support for API version 2026-03-01 with new WebVTT alignment and background volume parameters, plus enhanced error handling and refactored code structure for maintainability. Resolved quality and maintenance issues in the sample: BOM correction, build validation error fixes, and style check corrections; removed an unused Python file; README updated to reflect the new API version. This work improves compatibility with the latest API, accelerates developer integration, and reduces long-term maintenance risk.
