Worked on the Metrolist repository to establish foundational localization support, focusing on enabling Kurdish (Central) language accessibility within the Android application. Developed and populated a dedicated XML resource file, metrolist_strings.xml, with 45 translated UI strings, laying the groundwork for future internationalization efforts. Leveraged Android development skills and XML to integrate these translations, while setting up a Weblate-driven workflow to streamline ongoing translation management. This initial phase covered 5.8% of the app’s strings, providing a scalable framework for broader localization. The work prioritized maintainability and future cost reduction by preparing the codebase for additional languages and improved user experience.
