During February 2026, Dkumar Heerakari developed a new entity type for Juniper Mist Gateway monitoring within the newrelic/entity-definitions repository. Leveraging skills in entity definition, infrastructure management, and network monitoring, Dkumar used YAML to define and scope the attributes and monitoring logic required for consistent observability and alerting of gateway devices. The work established a foundation for centralized dashboards and alerts, improving visibility and enabling faster detection of network issues. Dkumar also aligned entity naming and file structure to support CI/CD readiness, addressing minor inconsistencies. The project demonstrated focused depth in infrastructure monitoring, though no major bugs were addressed.
