Worked on enhancing accessibility in the grafana/grafana repository by improving the ColorPicker component’s support for assistive technologies. Focused on frontend development using React and TypeScript, the work involved correctly associating labels with their descriptions and wiring aria-describedby attributes to the color swatch. This technical approach ensured that screen readers could accurately announce color information, aligning the component with ARIA best practices. The changes were delivered as an isolated, low-risk update, enabling rapid validation and rollout. This effort reduced accessibility risk and reinforced the project’s commitment to inclusive UI design, demonstrating attention to detail in accessibility engineering.
