During December 2024, DJR focused on improving developer experience and reliability in the pcdshub/mfx repository by addressing a key file permission issue. DJR ensured the image_viewer.sh script was directly executable by applying Unix file permissions with chmod 755, eliminating the need for manual permission adjustments during development and continuous integration. This shell scripting change aligned the repository with best practices, reducing runtime errors and friction for both users and contributors. DJR utilized shell scripting and Git-based change tracking to deliver a targeted bug fix, demonstrating disciplined code hygiene and attention to cross-environment consistency, though no new features were introduced.
