Worked on the apache/hadoop repository to enhance test infrastructure by hardening test configurations for Java 17+ compatibility. Focused on updating the maven-failsafe-plugin’s argLine handling, the work resolved duplicate JVM argument issues in the Hadoop TOS build, ensuring that JPMS options and other critical settings are correctly propagated to all integration test forks. This approach improved the reliability of continuous integration runs and reduced test flakiness, laying a foundation for future JDK migrations. Leveraged Java, Maven, and XML to validate and future-proof the Hadoop test suites, emphasizing robust software testing practices and supporting ongoing modernization of the codebase.
