Worked on the MyCoRe-Org/mir repository to address a metadata transformation issue in the JATS to MODS workflow. Focused on XML transformation using XSLT, the developer delivered a targeted bug fix that ensures only the first subtitle element is imported during the conversion process. This adjustment eliminated duplicate subtitles and resolved data inconsistencies affecting MODS exports, search, and display in downstream systems. The solution demonstrated proficiency in XSLT debugging and a strong understanding of metadata standards, while also improving traceability by aligning the fix with the MIR-1469 reference. The work enhanced metadata quality for DeepGreen imports and reduced downstream cleanup.
