Worked on the GoogleCloudPlatform/PerfKitBenchmarker repository to enhance the reliability of benchmark setups by implementing an HPCC Benchmark OpenBLAS fallback mechanism. Developed a feature in Python that attempts to compile with a targeted OpenBLAS version and, if unsuccessful, automatically falls back to OpenBLAS v0.3.29. This approach improved the reproducibility and cross-environment compatibility of performance benchmarking workflows. Leveraged skills in build systems and system administration to ensure that the benchmark setup process is robust against compilation failures. The work focused on reducing setup-time errors and maintaining consistent benchmarking results across diverse environments without introducing new bugs.
February 2025 performance summary for GoogleCloudPlatform/PerfKitBenchmarker: Implemented HPCC Benchmark OpenBLAS Fallback Mechanism to improve robustness of the benchmark setup. The feature adds a fallback path to compile with a targeted OpenBLAS version and automatically falls back to OpenBLAS v0.3.29 if initial attempts fail, increasing reliability across environments.
