Worked on the mozilla/fxa repository to enhance observability for database migrations by improving the logging within the migration patcher script. Focused on operational visibility, the work introduced detailed console output to track the start and completion of patching for each database, as well as per-database results. Leveraging JavaScript and Node.js, the developer refactored results gathering logic using string interpolation, which simplified the codebase and improved maintainability. These changes raised the quality of error logging, enabling faster debugging and clearer audit trails. The improvements supported more efficient validation and issue resolution for database migrations across multiple environments and deployment scenarios.
