Worked on the Nextdoor/k8s-charts repository to deliver advanced Kubernetes rollout features and observability improvements over two months. Developed multi-zone and multi-AZ rollout capabilities, enabling controlled deployments and seamless migration from Deployments to Argo Rollouts with zero downtime. Enhanced Datadog integration by refining annotation handling and improving log scraping reliability. Implemented support for Istio VirtualServices across multiple Availability Zones, allowing stable and canary services to be managed per zone and reducing rollout risk. Used Go, Helm, and YAML to ensure robust chart hygiene, clear migration paths, and improved monitoring, while addressing configuration bugs to stabilize multi-zone and multi-AZ workflows.
