Worked on the Nextdoor/k8s-charts repository to enhance Helm chart metadata, focusing on safer Kubernetes deployments and improved automation. Addressed a key bug by updating versioning across daemonset-app, rollout-app, and stateful-app charts, enabling more precise release tracking and reproducibility. Standardized chart labels to align with Kubernetes conventions, switching from camelCase to kebab-case for better automation compatibility and traceability. The work was implemented using YAML and leveraged DevOps practices with a strong emphasis on Helm and Kubernetes. These changes improved the clarity and maintainability of deployment processes, supporting more reliable and transparent release management within the repository.
