Developed and delivered the Semantic SubTables parsing strategy for the cohere-ai/cohere-compass-sdk repository, enabling semantic sub-table chunking for CSV, Excel, and ODS files. This feature enhanced tabular data ingestion and downstream analytics by allowing clients to process large spreadsheets more efficiently. The implementation focused on evolving the API surface while maintaining backward compatibility and minimal impact for client adoption. Work involved designing parsing architecture and collaborating across teams to align with related repositories. Python was used extensively, with emphasis on data parsing and software development best practices. No major bugs were fixed during this period, and CI validated stability.
