Developed retention policy management for the cohere-ai/cohere-compass-sdk, enabling policy-based data lifecycle governance at the index level. This work involved designing new Python models, such as RetentionPolicy and RetentionType, and updating existing structures like IndexDetails to support configurable retention policies. Implemented API endpoints and extended both synchronous and asynchronous client libraries to allow users to set, retrieve, and delete retention policies, supporting governance, cost control, and compliance for customer data. Focused on backend and API development, the solution provided comprehensive methods for managing data retention, ensuring that policy configuration is accessible and maintainable within the SDK’s architecture.
