Worked on the openconfig/featureprofiles repository to address backward compatibility for static LSP next-hop configurations. Implemented a fix that conditionally applies an older OpenConfig path based on device capabilities, ensuring support for devices lacking the newer OC path while minimizing the risk of regressions on modern hardware. The solution involved using Go and leveraging skills in Network Automation, Protocol Buffers, and gRPC to integrate the deviation into automated tests. Documented the changes thoroughly and linked them to relevant issues for traceability. This work preserved interoperability across diverse devices and streamlined modernization efforts by decoupling deployment from OpenConfig path updates.
