The engineering effort centered on updating the installer’s shell script to automatically detect and update critical dependencies, introduce version checks for core tools, and utilize a secure temporary directory for downloading the Scaf executable. By ensuring the latest version of rsync was used during installation, the changes reduced setup failures and improved synchronization reliability. The work leveraged skills in CI/CD, dependency management, and shell scripting, resulting in a more robust, user-friendly installer that minimized support overhead and installation errors.
