In August 2025, Gavin Mogan focused on improving the onboarding experience in the Kareadita/Kavita repository by addressing a critical issue with promo code handling. He implemented a targeted fix using TypeScript and front end web development skills to ensure the FIRSTTIME promo code was consistently applied throughout the onboarding flow. This change eliminated cases of misapplied or broken promotions, directly reducing revenue leakage and enhancing the reliability of new-user incentives. Gavin’s work also improved analytics traceability for future experiments, enabling more accurate measurement of promotional campaigns and supporting ongoing optimization efforts within the onboarding process for new users.
