Gopal Venkatesan developed a unified command framework for the MacRover/maxwell repository, focusing on the VIPER CAN Command ID Refactor and Card Data Reporting feature. Using C and leveraging expertise in CAN Bus and embedded systems, Gopal consolidated card-specific commands, introduced a card ID field, and updated the state machine to manage active and inactive card states. The implementation added card-level control, including enable and disable functions, multiplexer value settings, and data retrieval. This work improved system observability, fault isolation, and scalability for multi-card configurations, laying a foundation for safer operations and streamlined future integrations within the firmware architecture.
