During December 2024, Michael Hess contributed to the evcc-io/evcc repository by enhancing the Fiat vehicle configuration with multilingual help text for the PIN parameter. He focused on improving user experience by clarifying the PIN’s role in refreshing the state of charge during charging, providing guidance in both English and German. This update was implemented using YAML and configuration management skills, adhering to localization best practices. While the scope was limited to a single feature and did not involve bug fixes, the work laid a foundation for future localization efforts and aimed to reduce user errors and support requests in configuration.
