In June 2025, Grzegorz Sobol refactored the ethexe component within the gear-tech/gear repository, focusing on architecture refinement and reliability. He introduced a generic Database trait to decouple data access from processing logic, enabling pluggable storage backends and improving testability. The LocalBlobLoader was updated to require a Database instance, enhancing isolation and runtime flexibility. Grzegorz also modified ComputeService to return a CodeId on success, streamlining event handling. His work included dependency updates, improved error handling, and enhanced logging for better observability. Using Rust and applying system design and code processing skills, he stabilized end-to-end processing under real-world loads.
