Developed and contributed a new formula for the git-format-staged tool to the Homebrew/homebrew-core repository, focusing on enhancing developer workflows and code consistency. The work centered on automating the formatting of staged files in Git by allowing users to specify a command, ensuring code style is enforced before commits. Leveraging Ruby and Homebrew’s packaging system, the implementation included robust versioning and a practical test that validated the tool’s ability to sort lines in a file prior to commit. This approach improved reliability in continuous integration and streamlined code review processes, utilizing skills in Git, Ruby, and Homebrew formula development.
