During February 2025, Haohuan worked on the Borye/openpi repository, focusing on maintaining compatibility with JAX 0.5.0 and above. He addressed a key issue by removing the deprecated jax_threefry_partitionable setting from the training scripts, which streamlined configuration and reduced the risk of training failures due to outdated options. This update, implemented in Python and leveraging his expertise in Deep Learning and Machine Learning, improved the onboarding experience for new contributors and simplified ongoing maintenance. The work demonstrated careful attention to evolving dependencies and ensured that the codebase remained robust and adaptable to future updates in the JAX ecosystem.
