During October 2025, Hickey delivered a Global Bootstrap Stack Deployment for the AWS Management Account in the awslabs/landing-zone-accelerator-on-aws repository. Using AWS CDK and TypeScript, Hickey implemented logic to automate the creation of a bootstrap stack in a global region, streamlining multi-region provisioning and reducing manual intervention. The work included a targeted fix to the global-region bootstrap flow, which improved the reliability and consistency of CDK-based account bootstrapping across multiple AWS regions. This feature enhanced automation and standardization of cloud infrastructure workflows, enabling repeatable deployments and supporting robust multi-account environments. The work demonstrated solid depth in cloud automation.
