Worked on the OpenHands/OpenHands repository to enhance observability within the Conversation Service by introducing a merging utility that preserves existing context metadata rather than overwriting it. This approach ensured trace continuity, particularly in repo-less scenarios where maintaining essential trace information is critical. Leveraged Python for backend development and focused on robust unit testing to verify that trace context was consistently preserved across different workflows. The work emphasized context preservation and improved end-to-end traceability, reinforcing the reliability of observability features. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature development and strengthening test coverage for trace metadata.
