During January 2025, JD focused on maintaining data integrity within the opensanctions/opensanctions repository by addressing a configuration issue in the fcib dataset. JD identified and corrected a typo in the tr_fcib.yml YAML configuration, which had previously risked misidentification or exclusion of records during downstream data processing. Leveraging skills in data curation and data engineering, JD applied and validated the fix to ensure consistent dataset behavior and reliable record matching across the pipeline. While no new features were introduced, this targeted bug fix improved data quality and stability, reflecting a careful and detail-oriented approach to maintaining production data systems.
