Worked on enhancing the Datadog Terraform provider by implementing a storage_class option for AWS S3 log archives, allowing users to select storage classes such as STANDARD_IA and GLACIER_IR for improved cost optimization and retention management. This involved schema and API client updates, comprehensive test coverage, and clear user-facing documentation within the DataDog/terraform-provider-datadog and DataDog/documentation repositories. Leveraged Go, HCL, and Markdown to deliver a cohesive feature that streamlines S3 log archival lifecycle management. The work provided customers with clearer guidance and reduced ambiguity around storage class selection, supporting better infrastructure-as-code practices and cloud resource management.
