Worked on security hardening within the centreon-collect repository by addressing credential management in configuration files. Focused on the nsclient.ini file, the developer removed hardcoded passwords and replaced them with a placeholder to promote safer secret handling practices. This change reduced the risk of credential exposure and aligned the project with security best practices, supporting future improvements such as secret rotation and centralized management. The work was carried out using configuration management skills and the INI file format, ensuring operational stability while enhancing compliance and audit readiness. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on this targeted feature enhancement.
