Over two months, contributed to JdeRobot’s RoboticsInfrastructure and RoboticsAcademy repositories by developing 40 features and resolving critical bugs in robotics simulation and control. Focused on plugin-based extensibility, world modeling, and teleoperation, the work included maturing the Simple Plugin Framework, integrating UDP communication, and enhancing camera and sensor configurations using C++, Python, and ROS2. Implemented CI/CD pipelines and improved code quality through linting and formatting. Advanced simulation fidelity with scalable robot/world setups and depth camera perception, while enabling autonomous navigation via a DWA-based stack. These efforts improved modularity, reliability, and deployment readiness for robotics research and educational environments.
April 2026 monthly summary focusing on delivering depth sensing improvements and autonomous navigation capabilities across RoboticsInfrastructure and RoboticsAcademy. Key outcomes include depth camera topic/perception enhancements, stabilization of the depth data pipeline through targeted fixes, and a DWA-based navigation stack with visualization and sensor integration. These efforts improved perception fidelity, obstacle avoidance, and deployment readiness.

March 2026 delivered substantial advances in plugin-based extensibility, world simulation fidelity, and developer tooling across the RoboticsInfrastructure and RoboticsAcademy projects. Key features matured the Simple Plugin Framework (v1–v11) and added robust capabilities such as Forwarding, Person/Comment actions, UDP plugin integration, and versioned Plugin Topics (v1–v12). Core actor teleoperation and control improvements were enabled through Delayed Automatic Person, Controlled Actor with WP integration, and Teleoperation Model usage for harm scenarios. World/simulation work introduced scalable robot/world configurations, camera integration and visualization, and performance-oriented simplifications (world, floor, collisions) with targeted fixes in camera positioning. Launcher formatting/EOF cleanup improved build reliability. On RoboticsAcademy, CI/CD templates and workflows were established, with HAL3 and WebGUI3 enhancements for control and UI, plus code-quality cleanups. Major fixes included 3D reconstruction reverts, lidar topic reverts, and floor collision orientation fixes, boosting stability and reliability. Overall, the month increased system reliability, modularity, testability, and time-to-market for new features, while reducing maintenance through automated tooling and clear versioned releases.
