Worked on the cloudfoundry/bosh-linux-stemcell-builder repository to address a critical reliability issue affecting container lifecycle management. Delivered a targeted fix that ensures monit-api-access within warden-cpi containers uses a dedicated per-container cgroup path, rather than inheriting the parent VM’s cgroup. This approach improved process isolation and reduced shutdown errors, enhancing overall stability and resource accounting in stemcell builds. The solution was implemented using Shell scripting and leveraged expertise in containerization, Linux internals, and system administration. The work demonstrated a focused, in-depth understanding of process management within containerized environments, resulting in more robust and predictable container operations for the project.
