During July 2025, work focused on enhancing the geerlingguy/linux repository by implementing a feature that retrieves APPS Bootloader image details from SMEM, adding a new APPSBL index and name to the socinfo image names array. This kernel-level development in C improved system reporting by enabling the SOCINFO extension to include APPSBL build details, thereby increasing traceability of bootloader builds. The integration required expertise in device drivers, embedded systems, and kernel development, ensuring compatibility with existing reporting pipelines. These enhancements streamlined the debugging and verification process for firmware builds, addressing traceability challenges in the APPS boot path without introducing new bug fixes.
