Developed and delivered a feature for the evcc-io/evcc repository that enables personalized distance measurement units on the vehicle card, allowing users to view distances in either kilometers or miles according to their preferences. The implementation focused on updating the Config UI using Vue.js and JavaScript, integrating user preference management directly into the frontend. This enhancement reduced the number of configuration steps required and improved the overall user experience by supporting per-user settings. The work demonstrated attention to UI configuration, user-centric design, and commit-based traceability, laying a foundation for future unit-based customization within the application’s frontend architecture.
